Your side of the story:
I have return with a group of friends to this server to start up ss13 again. We always liked this servers mix of rp and combat. We have been talking in TS about characters or department things we could do together. Part of that was playing crooked Aegis cops.
We had discussed this multiple days and have done it in previous rounds. I played a xenophobic character that was going to vandalize and drum up crimes for the department to then prosecute to make aegis look better and get us fines.
We had discussed this in TS prior days and the day of a few minutes before the incident.
I had never received any admin messages for any infractions or lrp.
I wrote "Furry Tard Die" As a hate crime for Aeigs to prosecute. Gmann informed me I should use more lore friendly hate speech and I agreed and thanked him for the pointers.
I had a back and forth with gman and he stated something along the lines of this being my first warning. I said something along the lines of thanking him for informing me and that I would refresh on the rules as it had been some time. In this back and forth I told gman that i was doing this as part of the corrupt aegis and had worked with the sarge about doing it. Me and jeff had talked about this as he was loading in. When solazius looked back in the logs he told me I did the incident prior to Jeff loading in. I was surprised as I had believed we talked IC'ly about it but I said that Logs don't lie and I must have jumped the gun. I apologized for that. He then directed me to the rules and asked for discord logs of my chat with

Jeff but we use TS so it was all voice chats.
Why I should be unbanned:
This was the first time I can account being messaged by an admin except for the few times I adminhelped Gman with a joke or some question. Solazius typed everything in a very unprofessional and joking way. I was warned and then with no communication to me I received the ban message which did not actually ban me. When I asked what was up with that, he made a joke about it, then corrected the mistake.
(Joke in question: https://gyazo.com/a7d1af494ab6dc558b8ddb2fa0aad0ad)
I felt as though the admin staff was very unprofessional and lacked communication in this ruling.
I received some course correction from Gman which sparked me to re-think some of my characters and dig out my old templates for med/employment/and sec records.
It really felt as though they kept a bunch of notes and did not actually ever contact me until they suddenly decided to ban me.
I would love to play this server as I really enjoy it and I would be more than happy to take the steps needed to bring myself more in line with the type of player you are trying to foster.
The main reason for my ban as I understand it was the lying, which was not lying but me assuming we had acted ic'ly, but I had failed to ensure that and jumped the gun from info we talked about doing. We did end up doing it, I just acted before it was done Ic'ly.
It feels harsh for a mistake.
I did not originally post this under an account as I stated that I was not enthused to be making a forum account, and it was offered to me that Nick could post it for me.
Further discussion has brought to my attention that the lynch pin is that it is believed that I lied about talking in TS with Altairboy about being corrupt cops.
The only people who can corroborate this story is
Altairboy
Dho
Aho
Nick
Gek
Nicholson
Myself (acom)
As it was voice communications I have no way of providing any other evidence as I do not record myself.
They all play the server and have been present at some point when we discussed this in TS throughout the prior week and the day of.
[Solazius] A comando - Lying to Admins
Re: [Solazius] A comando - Lying to Admins
Hey there! So, a couple of things I noticed in your ban appeal that should probably be clarified before we continue.
I'd used a method of banning called "Delayed ban" which is intended to remove you at the conclusion of the round. You'd mentioned you were heading to bed, so I figured it would be better to let you finish your scene, tie up loose ends, and then head off for the night. Lesson learned, I suppose.
Then, when questioned a second time, you expressed that it was Riley specifically that told you to. When told about the lack of logs, you changed your story to talking about it on TS, being in metacomms with Altairboy during that round, and previous rounds. This would be a rule break on it's own, but combined with alleged misinformation, and an entirely un-traceable and un-verifiable method of communications, it was decided to upgrade your ban to permanent with appeal.
Finally, I don't actually see any kind of justification for your previous LRP behavior, metacomming with your friends to gain an advantage, or the change of story in your appeal. Mostly pulling 2 other players and 4 completely never-before-seen names in to vouch for your metacomm adventures.
I would personally say take the week off from space, give the appeal another read, and reconsider your approach for appealing to the admin that banned you. Trying to have the decision overturned exclusively by calling me unprofessional isn't doing a particularly great job at convincing me to unban you.
If any of the other members of the administrative team have input on the subject, I'd be more than happy to see it.
Hope that helps!
Have a secure day.
Talking with other players out-of-game regarding currently in-game events is not allowed under any circumstances. Communicating via Teamspeak, Discord, Ventrilo, or your motorola™ flipphone can lead to an unfair advantage, especially when investigating crimes, or orchestrating events without communicating about them in an IC manner.Me and jeff had talked about this as he was loading in. When solazius looked back in the logs he told me I did the incident prior to Jeff loading in. I was surprised as I had believed we talked IC'ly about it but I said that Logs don't lie and I must have jumped the gun. I apologized for that. Going back and checking your player notes, it's also suggested that you'd been spoken with by Valanthe in the past for similarly-mentioned LRP behaviors, and given a warning for them. If that's not actually the case, and the notes are misleading, please let me know! This was the first time I can account being messaged by an admin except for the few times I adminhelped Gman with a joke or some question.
I tend to try to keep things relatively light-hearted when possible, though I'd hardly say any of our interactions were unprofessional. You've got me on the joke part there, however.Solazius typed everything in a very unprofessional and joking way.
The admin message I'd sent you immediately before applying the ban actually stated the reason you were being punished, that several admins had agreed on the course of action (Myself, Valanthe, Timid, Gman, and Nestor.) as well as sending you a link to the forums specifically where you could appeal your ban after 7 days had passed. 7 days have not, in fact, passed quite yet, but I'd rather clear a few things up here before we try again in a week.I was warned and then with no communication to me I received the ban message which did not actually ban me.

Very close, actually! The reason your ban was escalated from a warning, to a 3 day, and then to a permanent with appeal, was not due to the lying alone, but actually to the number of times the story changed. You'd initially told Gman that you were told to do so by 'aegis' earlier in the round. Fair enough. Later, I'd asked the sergeant at the time (Altairboy, playing as Riley Hunt) if he'd actually done so, which he said did not actually happen. Instead, specifically saying "I didn't ask him to plant anything, more just gave him a list of things that are contraband and said go find these.."The main reason for my ban as I understand it was the lying, which was not lying but me assuming we had acted ic'ly, but I had failed to ensure that and jumped the gun from info we talked about doing.
